Learn how to meditate to relax and reduce stress. We often spend our emotional energy on what we should have done in the past or what might go wrong in the future.  Living mindfully focuses on living one’s life in “real time” and being open to fully experience what is going on in the present moment, with kindness and acceptance.

This introductory session provides a taste of the fundamentals of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, which has been shown to reduce anxiety, depression, and pain, and to improve well-being.  Through meditation and awareness exercises, we will explore this practical time-proven approach that has helped thousands of people achieve greater balance, vitality and health.

What you will learn:
  • What mindfulness is and how it can reduce stress and enhance well-being
  • A variety of mindfulness meditation practices
  • Applications of mindfulness in day-to-day living
Instructor:  Aleezé Sattar Moss, PhD is the Associate Director and a senior teacher at the Mindfulness Institute in the Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine at Jefferson.
