TTN Announces Launch of "Signature Programs"
July 1, 2015As a woman in transition and a member of TTN, you are encouraged to follow the path of "Connect-Discover-Impact" as you sort out what it means for you to live a meaningful life. Through our chapters there are many opportunities for members to connect with one another in special interest groups (SIGS), chapter meetings and and other socially-oriented events. Through the years, TTN has done an excellent job of connecting women with each other and there are many, many stories of members meeting women they would never have met had it not been for their membership in TTN.
Last year, the second step - discover - was the focus of the work of the Communications and Programs Committee. The members of this committee have extensive experience in program development and group facilitation. Together with the Marketing & Branding Committee, they created the concept of Signature Programs as a way to "...distinguish our organization from others in offering unique value to women 50 and forward, through career and life transitions."
TTN Signature Programs reflect our organization's essence, and meet the following criteria:
- Align with TTN values and contribute to fulfilling TTN’s mission
- Have TTN Board, Staff and Chapter leadership support
- Support lifelong learning and discovery for both new and existing members
- Build community among members and foster peer support networks
- Provide support and resources for successfully navigating transitions and positive aging
- Are solidly grounded in theory and research
A second Signature Program is the new Women in Transition Workshop (WIT) - a program designed by TTN volunteers to promote greater understanding of what it means to be in transition. Keep in mind, at this stage of our lives, we are experiencing many transitions - career, family composition, housing, health - that affect us on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. This workshop is being introduced this year so keep your eye on your events page for when it will be offered in your chapter.
The Transition Network has been helping women reimagine their lives for 15 years and we expect to do so for many, many years to come. As the book says - Smart Women Don't Retire, They Break Free!
