Looking Forward in 2018
Having now completed my first term as President of the Board of Directors, I am reflecting back on the past two years that encompassed so much change in our world.
As a country, we saw the wave of women speaking out through marches throughout the country. We heard the voices of those who came out to say “Me Too”, and now many more women are running for election across the spectrum of local and national political offices.
What a time to be a woman who is part of an organization that “Embraces Change!”


Board News
We are very fortunate to have so many talented and dedicated women who serve on our Board of Directors. This year we bid adieu to Barbara Beizer, Jean Palmer and Barbara Schreibman whose board terms ended on December 31. They gave their time and expertise to develop Signature Programs, leadership training workshops and creative marketing strategies in an effort to help TTN become a stronger organization. We heartily thank them for their service and look forward to their continuing involvement as members of TTN.

TTN's New "Breaking Free" Group for National Members
Women are attracted to TTN from all over the country - not just in the cities and towns where we have chapters. These members are our "National" members and they are also seeking community and support as they navigate their own transitions.

United Nations International Day of Older Persons
Yes, there is such a day!
On December 16, 1991, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted its "Principles for Older Persons." As I read through the resolution, I thought about how much in alignment TTN is with these fundamental principles of respect, dignity and care. Click here to read the Resolution.

Was it only a week ago that Michelle Obama reminded us of our right to respect and dignity? In this era of information coming at us 24/7, it feels like weeks, not days, since she challenged us to refute bigotry and realize that we have knowledge, we have a voice, we have power.
