Essential Oils Workshop
An intimate group of South Florida TTN members had a deep olifactory experience on March 19th at the Healing Essence Studio in Fort Lauderdale. Aromatherapist Julia Caira of Healing Essence Studio, led the group on a tour of over 20 high-quality essential oils, then helped us blend our favorites into a personal oil or lotion. Yes, our noses got tired but an occasional sniff of coffee grinds cleared the nostrils. It was fascinating that individuals had very different reactions to various oils. Caira, who is also a licensed massage therapist, conducts classes and healing sessions at her lovely 4-room studio on east Commerical Blvd.
Judy Chicago Exhibit
The parking garage almost stole the show. The Arts Garage, which is sided by startling and beautiful large panels of art in relief, was the first stop for the 23 So Fla TTN members and guests who gathered on Saturday January 12th.

Watching the Wildlife at Green Cay
October 29, 2018: On a lovely cool afternoon, a group of South Florida TTN members and guests toured the Green Cay Nature Center & Wetlands in Boynton Beach. Carol Rasowsky, a volunteer at the center and an experienced birder pointed out such species as the iridescent glossy ibis and green heron as the group walked 1.5 miles of elevated boardwalk over the constructed wetlands. The site was originally farmland sold to the county at a reduced price on the condition that it would be made into a wetland.
Interestingly, the naturalist who designed Green Cay also designed the older 50-acre Wakodahatchee Wetlands in Delray Beach, which also has a boardwalk. Both parks attract a large variety of herons and other large birds, ducks, hens, and warblers migrating through. They also attract nature photographers with large lenses and fancy equipment. But our group managed to get some good photos using our phones. Many thanks to Carol for delightful and informative tour!
