Misty Water-Colored Memories? - Online Presentation

Sunday, December 5, 2021, 7‑8pm EST
Location: Online
Contact: Wendy

How do we recapture memories of our lives, of our families, of the times we lived through?  Can we really trust what we remember?  What does it mean to tell the “truth” about the past?  What do we owe to those who may remember it all differently?  Do we still see things in retrospect in the same way we experienced them in the moment?
Writing a memoir requires asking oneself these and other questions about memory, family, and history.  But even if you have no plans to capture your life on paper or publish the stories you want to pass on, these questions are key to harvesting the wisdom that is the gift of age.
Leslie Sussan will share some of her reflections on the challenges and rewards of writing a memoir.  You are invited to consider what gifts and obstacles you find in the process of looking back at families and memories from the perspective of today.
The Zoom link will be provided to all registrants 48 hours prior to the presentation.
