There is a lot of confusing information about what to do if you have been diagnosed with osteopenia or osteoporosis.
Joanne Fagerstrom, an osteoporosis exercise specialist and physical therapist with over 40 years of experience, will talk about the crucial role exercise and nutrition play in improving and maintaining your bone density.
Through extensive research and modifications to her exercise program and diet, Joanne was able to reverse her own diagnosis of osteoporosis – without drugs! This personal success led her to share all that she discovered with others, both in her annual Taking Charge of Your Bone Health workshop and in her Strong Bones exercise classes.
Joanne will speak about this subject in depth, and share the specifics of what to do and what NOT to do to strengthen your bones and keep them strong for the rest of your life.
A portion of Joanne's presentation will include an interactive introduction to many of the exercises Joanne teaches in her Strong Bones class. These will all be in either a standing or sitting position, and no equipment will be needed.
It is never too late to take charge of your bone health!
