How to Prevent Scams and Consumer Fraud

Have you been a victim or attempted victim of phone, email, or mail scams? Do you know someone who has lost money due to a scam, believing that a family member was in danger or that their IRS account was in arrears?

Join us for a presentation on how to recognize and avoid different types of scams that you could encounter.

Our speakers include:

NYPD Officers Anthony Nuccio & Tyle Scherpich  from the 19th Precinct who will provide information on specific phone/email/mail scams,  do’s and don’t’s, and who to contact to report scams.
- Chuck Bell, Programs Director for Consumer Reports who will speak about state and federal government legislative efforts, as well as industry efforts, to protect consumers from these scams.


Payments by check must be received 7 DAYS before the event, or registration will be cancelled. Refunds can only be made for cancellations received at least two weeks (14 calendar days) before the event.
