IMAGI(IN)ING YOUR NEXT ACT: A Guided Exploration for Women in Transition

Saturday, June 22, 2019
Time:
10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Location: The Cartwright Hotel - Union Square, BW Premier Collection, 524 Sutter Street, San Francisco, CA 94102
Email: sanfranciscochapter@thetransitionnetwork.org

In this interactive workshop, educational consultants Jenny Michael and Susan Christopher will lead you through a mindful and creative process for envisioning the next segment of your life journey and identifying actionable steps that will move you forward along your chosen path.

You will be invited to actively reflect on anticipated and imagined changes in your life and to clarify what is most meaningful and important to you, as you move through your transition. You will also have a chance to imagine what the next phase of your journey might look like if you had no practical constraints, thus allowing yourself to consider paths you might otherwise pass by. In sharing your ideas with other women in a mutually supportive environment, you will gain deeper insights from their feedback - and they will learn from you.

Trained in folklore and ethnography, Dr. Jennifer
Michael has conducted field research in diverse communities in the United States and abroad. She also brings to the table a decade of university teaching experience and more than fifteen years as a faculty trainer in higher education. Drawing on ethnographic methods, she has designed and facilitated interactive learning experiences for diverse groups on topics ranging from communication skills, cross-cultural dialogue, traditional arts, and round-singing. Most weekends Jenny can be found hiking in the Oakland hills or traveling by small plane with her pilot partner. She writes a blog, tries out new recipes on unsuspecting friends, and is deeply addicted to audiobooks.

Dr. Susan Christopher has been a faculty member  and/or administrator at seven different institutions of higher education. From her teaching in the fields of feminist studies, education, and research design, she has developed a highly interactive, engaged pedagogical approach to facilitating workshops for women. She currently works part-time as a Title IX Coordinator and Investigator at a local university. Susan stays politically active with women's organizations, spiritually active with meditation, and physically active with golf and long walks accompanied by her canine pal, Sunny.

Cost:  TTN Members $40
Non-members $55 plus $4.98 fee
