Originally the home and gardens of William Hamilton, our 1.5-hour tour will include the mansion and a portion of the grounds and cemetery which are too extensive to view completely. The home was recognized as the pre-eminent
neoclassical interior in Philadelphia, as well as the entire US, at the time. Today, its mission is to maintain the tranquil green space as an educational hub and to allow scholars to study urban development and American architectural history.
Transportation option: All SEPTA trolleys, except #10, stop at 40th St. and Baltimore Ave., across the street from The Woodlands. If there is interest, we can arrange to meet at 15th and Market and take the trolley together.
Email Cate Silver, firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to join the group after the tour at the Trolley Car Station restaurant, across the street from the venue.
Registration, payments and cancellations* must be made by May 21, 2019. *No refunds will be given after this date.
