Founded in 1814, the Athenaeum of Philadelphia is one of America's oldest member-supported libraries and possesses an internationally significant collection of art, architecture and design documents.

Join fellow TTN members as Curator of Architecture, Bruce Laverty, guides us on a tour of this impressive building and extensive collection.

Housed in an 1847 National Historic Landmark Building on Washington Square, the 21st-Century Athenaeum is widely hailed as the seminal American structure in the Italianate Revival style and one of the first Philadelphia buildings built of brownstone.  Severely plain on the exterior and deceptive in scale, the Anthenaeum building contains richly embellished reading rooms with 24-foot ceilings.
Please join us for a pay as you go happy hour at nearby P.J. Clarks after the tour.
Registration, payments and cancellations* must be made by June 3, 2019. *No refunds will be given after this date.
