In Philadelphia, an estimated 200,000 people are Muslims - 15 percent of the population - and some 47 registered mosques exist, with many more existing informally.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community opened a new mosque last November in North Philadelphia and we are very fortunate to have this broadening, educational opportunity in our own backyard. This is your chance to join fellow TTN members to tour this beautiful and historically important building.
Founded in 1889 and headquartered in the UK, the Community categorically rejects terrorism and is the only Islamic organization to endorse separation of mosque and state. The community champions the education and empowerment of women and are at the forefront of worldwide disaster relief through their charitable organization.
Our tour will be conducted by Kurat, the Public Affairs Director and we are invited to observe Jummah which is a 15 minute sermon followed by a 30 minute prayer service.
Modest dress is required, as you would for any religious event.
After registering, please contact Cate Silver <firstname.lastname@example.org> if you are interested in joining the group for lunch after the tour.
Registration, payments and cancellations* must be made by March 5, 2019. *No refunds will be given after this date.
