"Kimono Refashioned" is a cross-cultural exploration through fashion.
Follow the fascinating storyline of Japanese inspiration, influence and active engagement with global fashion from the 1870s to the present day. The exhibition highlights not only spectacular couture gowns, innovative men's wear, shoes with a sense of humor and ready-to-wear that tells a story, but also significant paintings, prints and textiles that relect and resonate with these style trends.
Cost: Entry fee to the museum is $15 for adults, $8 for seniors.
On-site parking is $9
We will meet at noon in the main lobby and give everyone time to purchase admission and check their coat. The exhibition tour will start about 12:15.
Lunch will follow at a local restaurant, 27Mix, just 2 blocks away. We will split the check so please bring cash.
The Newark Museum is open until 5pm for those who wish to return and see additional exhibits.
