Herbalist Educator Marian Dalke, will give what promises to be a fascinating 90-minute workshop discussing a variety of herbal preparations, including infusions, decoctions, infused oils, salves, medicinal vinegars and tinctures. She will focus particularly on ten medicinal plants and their properties and preparations.
We will each have the opportunity to create a hands-on herbal product to take home: Options are a salve (healing balm of infused oil and beeswax), infused viegar, or tincture (medicinal preparation in alcohol).
Marian Dalke holds certificates in Permaculture and Herbal Medicine for Women. She is a Community Herbalist and Urban Garden Manager at Norris Square Neighborhood Project. Her passion for the natural world began as a child, and she believes that food and health belong in people’s hands.
