One of the most influential sculptors working today, Ursula von Rydingsvard, is featured at a major exhibit of her work at the Fabric Workshop and Museum. Born in Deensen, Germany, Ursula von Rydingsvard has lived and worked in New York since the 1970s. Her work has been broadly exhibited internationally and is represented in the collections of major museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Museum of Modern Art; the National Gallery of Art; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; the Walker Art Center; and the Storm King Art Center. The artist lives in New York City and works in Brooklyn. And don’t miss her two lyrical sculptures recently installed at The Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Anne d’Harnoncourt Sculpture Garden.
Our visit to the Fabric Workshop and Museum includes a tour of the von Rydingsvard exhibit AND a hands on workshop of the fundamentals of silkscreen printing on fabric in just a few easy steps. We will use a “printing station” to print a tote bag (15” x 13” - covered by your registration fee), or, you may bring a pre-washed 100% cotton, smooth, light-colored T shirt to print.
Registration, payments and cancellations* must be made by August 10, 2018. *No refunds will be given after this date.
