The League House occupies an entire city block in the center of Philadelphia and spans approximately one-quarter million square feet in size. The building is representative of the classic French Renaissance style, with a brick and brownstone façade and dramatic twin circular staircases that lead to the main entrance on Broad Street. Built in 1865, the building was added to the National Historic Register in 1979.
We are very fortunate to have Babs DeLorey, both a TTN and Union League member, offer to be our docent for this tour. In addition to Babs' expertise, we will have a presentation by a member of the Abraham Lincoln Foundation of some historical items in their archives, including an original copy of the Emancipation Proclamation.
We hope you can join us in experiencing a true Crown Jewel right in our own backyard.
Please take note of the strictly enforced Dress Code: Not Permitted: spandex, open midriffs, halter tops, shorts, leggings, extremely short hemlines (not more than 3" above the knee), jeans, t-shirts, sneakers, and flip-flops.
For those attendees who are interested in getting together after the tour, we will have several options for lunch in the neighborhood.
The number of attendees is limited so SIGN UP TODAY!
