Join a group of TTN members and friends for a hands-on volunteer day at Manna, a non-profit organization that cooks and delivers meals to neighbors who are battling life-threatening illnesses. We have fun chatting while packaging meals. Give it a try!
We will meet at Manna and attend a short orientation. We will then work as a team, preparing and assembling meals in the kitchen to be delivered to Manna clients with nutritional needs. We typically prepare the final package of food that has been cooked onsite in the kitchen. We also make sandwiches, or ladle soup into containers. Wear comfortable clothing such as sneakers, jeans, and a tee shirt. Sometimes we go to lunch after our session; about half the group might go to lunch; no obligation for lunch.
Volunteers are required to adhere to the following guidelines:
- No sleeveless shirts
- Must wear long pants (no shorts or skirts)
- Must wear closed shoes
- Hats and/or head covering is required (hairnets are provided)
- Disposable aprons and gloves will be provided
- No Jewelry is allowed in the kitchen
- Post earrings and wedding bands, are allowed but no dangling jewelry
