Ever wonder what the story is behind all those famous Philadelphia murals?  Who conceived of the ideas and who painted them?  Mural Arts Philadelphia is the nation’s largest public art program, dedicated to the belief that art ignites change.

For 30 years, Mural Arts has united artists and communities to create art that transforms public spaces and individual lives. It engages communities in 50–100 public art projects each year and 12,000 residents and visitors tour Mural Arts’ outdoor art gallery annually, earning Philadelphia international recognition as the “City of Murals.”

Join the TTN Walking Tour of 18 murals in a 10 block area around 12th, 13th and Broad Street led by a docent from the Mural Arts program.  September 26 is the date.  We will meet at 11:00 the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts courtyard (next to the Paint Torch sculpture), 118 N Broad St, Philadelphia, PA.

The tour will last until approximately 1:00 PM.  After the tour, you are invited to join the group for lunch in a nearby restaurant at a location still to be determined.

The cost of the tour is $24 and does not include lunch.  Mural Arts allows no more than 20 participants per walking tour.  This event will fill fast, so get your reservation in as soon as possible. Lots of people have been wanting to do this.  You can then take your out-of-town guests around on your own and sound like an expert!

Please Note:  This tour requires the ability to walk 10 blocks and remaining on one’s feet for approximately 1 ½ - 2 hours.

Due to popular demand, a second docent has been arranged to accommodate 20 additional attendees for the Mural Arts tour.  Please note that the second group of 20 is subject to cancellation if less than 10 additional attendees register for the event.

Registration, payments and cancellations* must be made by September 5, 2017.
*No refunds will be given after this date.
