donor advised funds
The Transition Network welcomes donations from your donor advised fund.
When a woman sets up a donor advised fund, she can take an income tax charitable donation deduction for the full fair market value of the assets she has donated to the fund and she does not pay capital gains tax on any appreciated stock or other assets donated. When she subsequently recommends that the fund make a donation, she does not receive a charitable deduction since she has already taken the deduction.
So if TTN receives a donation from your donor advised fund, we won't send you an IRS donation acknowledgment letter, but we would love to thank you and acknowledge your gift on our website (unless you prefer for it to be anonymous).
Please contact us at 347-735-6035 or email us at email@example.com when you recommend a donation, so we will know who recommended it.
