Recent Events: Ageism and Feeling Invisible
This animated conversation facilitated by TTN Chicago members Roni Buckley and Joy Loverde and attended by over 30 women was centered around four simple yet powerful questions: Have you experienced ageism in your life? What beliefs about ageism do you carry with you? What would an age-blind society look like? How will you respond to ageism? It touched on issues of discrimination, anger and resentment, negative labels, age segregation, internalizing feelings and invisibility. It also raised awareness of the need for activism and cultural change and the value of experience, resilience, gratitude and wisdom. The program concluded with chapter members invited to continue this very meaningful conversation.
