TTN- Billings Chapter Steering Committee Bios

Kim Bar - Treasurer

Kim is a self employed accountant whose clients are mostly local non profits.  Since her office is in her home, she enjoys social interaction with women outside of her workplace.  Kim is the Billings Chapter Treasurer and Coordinator of the SIG Winey Women group.  Kim volunteers as Treasurer for a professional women's networking organization and is the Finance Committee chairperson on a nonprofit Board of  Directors.

Kim has been involved in music most of her life and retired from the Billings Symphony a few years ago because of medical reasons. Now she currently plays hand bells in a church hand bell choir. She and her husband enjoy traveling and visiting their two married daughters and new grandson.  Kim works out at the gym regularly and really enjoys putting her feet up at night with her Kindle and a glass of wine.

Lynn Langeliers – Programs and Events Co-Chair

Lynn is a Montana native, raised near Billings on a working ranch.  She has lived in Utah and Colorado but, returned to raise her family in Billings.  Lynn’s work career has been in advertising starting with radio and transitioning to print and the Billings Gazette in 1999.

Lynn enjoys gardening, cooking, wine and travel, especially to Italy.  She has three grown children and treasures her time with her three granddaughters.

Marti Miller - Chapter Chair

Marti has worked in the Foodservice industry for over 20 years in both Sales and Marketing.  Currently with Bay Valley / Treehouse Foods, she works with menu innovation teams at major chain restaurants.  Travelling regularly, she enjoys exploring new culinary trends and trying to replicate them at home for family and friends.

Originally from Chicago, she and her husband moved to Montana in 1999.  Marti has two sons – Quinn and Brendan.  In memory of her sister-in-law, she regularly participates in the Susan G Komen 3-Day walk – 2016 will be her 10th.

Marti was attracted to TTN as she makes plans to trade her frequent flyer status for new adventures that keep her closer to home.  Connecting with new women in Billings, supporting and learning from other’s transitions was the perfect way to start this process.

Evelyn Noennig - Membership

Evelyn Noennig has spent the past 19 years working at the Billings Gazette, the largest newspaper in her home state of Montana.  Her position as executive assistant to the publisher and public relations manager has provided meaningful opportunities to engage with business, government agencies and nonprofit organizations throughout the state.  Evelyn is currently completing her final year on the Library Foundation Board.  Highlights from her 9 years include being president, co-chairing a successful ballot initiative campaign and serving on the team that raised $5 million in private contributions to supplement the $18 million bond for library construction.

Evelyn’s hobbies include gardening, fly fishing, china painting; and traveling with her husband Russ.  They especially enjoy visiting their daughters, granddaughter and grandson in the Pacific Northwest.  Evelyn is looking forward to retirement and enjoying all the women and TTN actives in Billings.  "Thank you ladies for making my dream a reality!"

Cara Schaer - Programs and Events Co-Chair

“Actively engaged with Life” best describes Cara Schaer.  After 21 successful years as an Investment Advisor in the fast-paced financial services industry, Cara “retired” in 2002.  Since “retirement”, Cara’s life has never been busier.  Serving on various community boards as both a volunteer and leader has provided Cara with the opportunity to make a positive impact in the community.

Serving on the Billings Public Library Foundation Board as president during the years of the Capital Campaign and the Ballot Initiative Campaign were some of the most challenging and also most rewarding years.  Today, a new landmark, the Billings Public Library is the evidence of what collaborative volunteerism can produce.

The quest for continued personal growth and learning are essential ingredients for Cara’s future years.  Through TTN, Cara hopes to make new connections with women who share some of her passions and interest---community development, food, wine, travel, new adventures.   Serving on the Steering Committee and assisting Evelyn Noennig with the formation of the Billings Chapter has been an honor.  Certainly, the best is yet to come.   Final points:  happily married 53 wonderful years; mother of 3 great adult kids; nana to 3 wonderful grandkids.   Life is good!

Linda Wham - Web/Facebook Administrator

Linda Wham, Master’s of Education, recently retired after 26 years working as an Institutional Research Analyst from Montana State University Billings in the Information Technology Department.  Post retirement activities include traveling, birding, hiking, reading and time to enjoy the cabin on the Stillwater River with her husband of 43 years and family.

Linda has two grown daughters, a grandson and a granddaughter. She is a third generation Montanan and loves everything Billings and Montana has to offer.  TTN is a perfect fit to explore new relationships, special interest groups, travel opportunities and serving on the Steering Committee as Web and Facebook administrator.

Mary Stabio - Secretary

Mary Stabio is the secretary for the Billings Chapter of the Transition Network.  She enjoys meeting TTN members at the Meet and Greets and is a member of the One-and-Done and Spirit Women groups.

Raised in a small town near Billings and educated at MSU-Bozeman, Mary enjoys volunteering at both her church and at a faith-based non profit organization.  She enjoys playing piano, cooking , reading, walking and her classes at a local gym in her spare time.

June Luptak - Newsletter Coordinator

She's been fortunate to have had numerous challenging and rewarding positions. The first 27 years were in public health ending with managing what is now Riverstone Clinic and Director of Community Health Services for Yellowstone City-County Health Dept now Riverstone Health. Following that, she taught nutrition at MSU-B, did food safety consulting, and was a dietitian at Billings Clinic.

As a retirement gift two years ago, she took her two adult sons on a  6 day 120 mile float trip on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. June is currently settling into a new home.  Her passions include learning new things, her friends and family, and the outdoors.
