Start a New Chapter
Chapters are where the action is – women meeting face to face to create their very own community.
In talking with dozens of women making a transition from their mainstream work lives to something else, it is clear that what these women want in their next stage is to be engaged in activities that are meaningful, to have fun and to keep learning and growing.
WHY START A TTN CHAPTER?
TTN is a source for all three. When a 52 year-old lawyer decided to leave her partnership at a prestigious law firm, TTN is where she found support and advice with a group of women who “got it, got all I was going though and all I was feeling even when I didn’t say it.”
When a long time TTN member found herself newly widowed, TTN helped her reconstruct “a whole rich life again” with a social network of colleagues in other cities.
Starting a chapter makes you a magnet for interesting women in your city and allows you to do work that matters deeply to others. It gets you in on the ground floor of building something new. And it connects you to a larger group of women around the country who will inspire you and enrich your life.
Since our launch in 2000, The Transition Network has grown to 13 chapters nationwide, with more chapters in formation all the time. With our continued growth, TTN can benefit women across the country and become a strong voice for professional women over 50 who want to redefine their future.
THE ABCS OF STARTING A CHAPTER
These guidelines were developed to help women who want to start a chapter understand the basic steps, what TTN will do for you, and what TTN will ask you to do.
