Volunteering in New Jersey

February 17, 2018

About 25 TTN NJ members and guests gathered at the Springfield Public Library on February 17th to hear about volunteer opportunities in New Jersey.  The program featured representatives from two key aggregators:    Lynn Algrant, CEO of The Bergen Volunteer Center and Joseph Vaccarro, Senior Manager of Programs for Jersey Cares.   Lynn spoke about the breadth of programs facilitated by the Bergen Volunteer Center and their latest initiative “Redefining Retirement”.  Joe’s shared his personal decision to leave the world of banking to be a professional volunteer organizer and what he’s learned about volunteerism from Jersey Cares.

Several TTN members, Debbie Bogstahl, Dale Swisher and Gwynne McConkey also shared their volunteering experiences. The morning was both inspiring and fun with lots of sharing.
