SIG's Jumping Into Fall 2017

November 30, 2017

Our members are jumping into Fall with lots of activities in our SIGs.  Several SIGs have been so successful we're adding new groups to accommodate as many TTN members as possible. Take a look at what some of our SIGs have been up to lately.  Come join us!  Contact Joanne Bowes, SIG Chair, with questions:

Bridge Babes, an Intermediate Bridge group, meets for lessons, play and camaraderie
Bridge Babes
Does meeting for bridge and lessons seem interesting but you have zero bridge experience? Not a problem. TTN Bridge Novices interested in learning how to play can contact Joanne Bowes to see when the next Beginners group will be starting. Lessons are provided by an instructor for a fee.
The Art Appreciation
SIG outside at the Wharton Esherick Museum.  This group continues to find delightful art events across the Delaware Valley

Art Appreciation
The Art Appreciation group recently visited the Wharton Esherick Museum in Malvern. Wharton Esherick was a Philadelphia-born sculptor who worked primarily in wood. His home and studio near Valley Forge, PA were his largest canvas.

A third group is forming! Contact Joanne Bowes for details on the upcoming November organizational meeting.

Tapas prepared and enjoyed by the
Potluck SIG

Potluck Dinner
In October, the Potluck dinner group met at the home of Sally MacKenzie to enjoy tapas and conversation. Members enjoy tasting both old and new recipes related to a theme and sharing them with friends. This group has a few openings so if you're interested and available the second Thursday evening of the month, contact Sally at
The women of Classic Movies strike a pose with Classic Hats
Classic Movies
In the Classic Movies SIG, members meet at one another's homes to watch a classic movie and enjoy each other's company. In October, the group viewed The Philadelphia Story. To be put on the Wait List for this group or a similar group, please contact Joanne Bowes.
A Closer Look visits the Fabric Workshop after lunch at Pearl's in the Reading Terminal Market
A Closer Look
In late September, A Closer Look, an Art Events SIG, visited the Fabric Museum and Workshop in Center City for an exhibit on the noted Philadelphia architect, Louise Kahn.

While this group is At Capacity, members may be interested in the newly forming third Art Appreciation SIG. Contact Joanne Bowes.
