Soup’s On in Northern NJ
November 2, 2016It has become a tradition enjoyed by members of the NJWIT Peer group to enjoy a luncheon around soup. The genesis was a spontaneous suggestion by our members in 2014 to meet, eat and share our experiences over soup, a comfort food. This year, we enjoyed lentil, butternut squash and vegetable soups prepared by Carla Loffredo with plentiful desserts brought by our members – fruit, cakes, pies, brownies and corn bread.
At the request of Dale Swisher, we also collected socks, toothpaste and other sundries to distribute to the homeless, another reason for us to share our blessings.
Attended by Gwynne McConkey, Marilyn Shuffler, Gloria Rubin, Judy Glick, Carla Loffredo, Joan Prince, Dale Swisher, Lanie Gastman and Cheryl Katzman. Allyson Powers-Johnson Sheila Molden, the conversation was lively, as usual, and gave us all an opportunity to laugh, share our lives and get to know each other a little better.
