All the Good News a Fall Season Can Bring
September 15, 2016Most of us think of TTN as the wonderful women in our chapter and we're right. Spending quality time with each other is one of the most important benefits of being a member of our organization. What you may not know is that beyond the scope of our chapter activities, TTN is a highly regarded organization in the world of positive aging.
Several of us attended the Positive Aging Conference in Washington, DC at the end of August. Barbara Beizer and Carol Oswald presented a mini-version of our Signature Program, Women in Transition. And I know you all saw the excited notices about Mona Kreaden's presentation on TTN-HOME being televised live on C-SPAN. In addition to these very visible achievements, I was invited to participate in a special meeting to talk about the state of the positive aging movement. I was proud to represent TTN among these other industry leaders and to participate in the discussion about how we can collectively alter society's view of us - the country's older citizens.
We just launched our newest Signature Program, On Resilience, a program designed to help us strengthen the characteristics and skills that will help us manage all the changes we face. These programs all contribute to delivering on our mission - to support women in transition. And aren't we lucky to women of high skill and talent who create these programs for us?
Very soon we will be launching a re-vitalized TTN website. While it may look similar to our current site, it will have a strengthened back-end, improved communications and some new features to enhance your online experience. In the coming months we will be testing versions of the new site so we ask your patience as we work through the kinks which we know will be there.
If you look over our chapter event pages, you will see more opportunities than ever before to connect with each other and learn more about ourselves and the life we want to live. From coast to coast, we are having an impact on our communities which is one of the most important benefits of being a member of TTN. Together we are a force to be reckoned with.
Thank you for who you are and all you do and thank you for being part of our wonderful Network!
