NJWIT at The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow
October 26, 2014
On Sunday, members of the Northern NJ Chapter got together to hear the famous “Legend of Sleepy Hollow” by Jonathan Kruk, renowned storyteller. Performed in the Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow this is the church and churchyard that appear in Washington Irving’s short story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.”The church’s 3-acre burying ground is, of course, the purported haunt of the headless horseman, and also the resting place of local citizens who likely inspired Irving’s characters of Katrina Van Tassel, Brom Bones, and others in “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.”
The performance was delightful and afterwards, Dale Swisher, Cheryl Katzman, Joan Prince, Joan Knauer, Marilyn Shuffler and Carla Loffredo headed to a light dinner at Horse Feathers in Tarrrytown. A great evening with TTN friends!
