Facing Cancer Together - A Community of Hope

Date:  Wednesday, October 29, 2014  6:30 PM
Location: Open Spirit Center
39 Edwards Street  Framingham, MA 01701
Join us for "The Conversation project," founded by Pulitzer Prize winner Ellen Goodman. It is a national campaign dedicated to helping people talk about their wishes for end-of-life care. The goal of TCP is that everyone's wishes for end-of-life care will be expressed and respected.   Ellen is quick to say that regardless of your life circumstances, whether you are young, old, sick or healthy, that "it is a subject that is too often delayed - until it is too late."   Too many people are dying in a way that they wouldn't chose and too many loved ones are left feeling bereaved, guilty and uncertain.
On Wednesday, October 29 and Wednesday, November 12, from 6:30-8:30 pm, we will gather to begin the conversation.  The first evening, we will learn how to have the conversation, supported by clinical staff members and by using the structure of The Conversation Starter Kit.  Each participant will leave with a plan to have the conversation.   At the second meeting on November 12, we will report back to one another about how things went, whether we have had the conversation or not.
Please call the Facing Cancer Together office at 617 332 5777 to register for this two session evening.  Claire Willis, LICSW, trained by TCP in coaching, will lead the evening with other staff assisting.
Jointly sponsored by Facing Cancer Together and Open Spirit.
