Message from the executive director
I'm So Impressed with You!
November 29, 2013I mentioned some of these statistics in the December newsetter - over 100 women volunteer their time to serve on chapter steering committees around the country. They are supported by many, many more volunteers who serve on committees that plan and executive events, run peer groups, start special interest groups or work with other community organizations to help TTN women have an impact there.
Our Board of Directors is made up of volunteers (who actually pay to do this!) who give their expertise to lead TTN into a new and certain future. And the strategic planning committees who are working and meeting almost on a weekly basis, involve over 30 women representing 10 chapters. And, we have 2 members who aren't even affiliated with a chapter but who responded to our earlier call for volunteers.
The list goes on and on.
What's so impressive to me is the depth of talent and commitment, and the determination that these women exhibit. They are singularly focused on building a strong TTN, developing ways to deepen the experience of our members and expand our reach to every woman in transition.
I was part of the Philadelphia chapter steering committee for 4 years before becoming Executive Director. I know first hand that participating in this mission, in whatever way works for you, is the most rewarding way to connect with other women, discover what's next for you and have an immediate impact on yourself and others around you.
Don't miss out on an extraordinary experience. Volunteer!
