New Members Reception
December 7, 2011A rainy night didn’t deter new members from gathering at the home of Member Services Co-chair Livia Yanowicz to meet others and get plugged into the chapter’s activities. Those attending were Anne Brennan, Kathy Careddu, Irma Davidson-Gomez, Mary Dickas, Susan Lowes, Anne Minich, Monica Nomberg, Susan Protter, Diane Robbens, Antonina Rose and Gloria Woertz. Jane Lattes and Linda Paige-Levine from the Committee and other chapter members were on hand to help new members get oriented. While most of the new members live in Manhattan, Staten Island and Brooklyn were represented and several had already joined the Caring Collaborative.
The purpose of the reception was to give new members a chance to meet each other, to get advice on how to find a peer group or two, and generally begin to plug into the chapter and its activities. “TTN is a wonderful organization”, said Linda Paige-Levine, co-chair of the Member Services Committee, “with a lot of ways to participate. We have found that making personal connections at meetings like these is a good way to get involved quickly and make membership more meaningful.”
New member receptions are held three to four times a year in the homes of Member Services Committee members. If you would like to come to the next one, contact Marie Constantin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
