Caring Collaborative 2010 Update
The TTN Caring Collaborative has come to the “official” end of its two year demonstration project. And what a year it has been! Thanks to the participation of more than 250 NYC members, TTN has demonstrated the power and potential of informal communities to provide strategic, health focused care for one another.

Update: Starting in January 2010, Caring Collaborative membership will cost $50 a year

TTN's Caring Collaborative

The Caring Collaborative is an innovative model for aging in community developed by The Transition Network, a growing non-profit organization for women over 50 who join forces to successfully navigate life’s transitions.

The TTN Caring Collaborative is laying the groundwork for a support system to allow women to live independently through the exchange of information and services organized by and provided by peers in the TTN community.

Now is the time to think about how the Caring Collaborative could be helpful in your own life.

The first half of 2009 has been busy and productive for the TTN Caring Collaborative as more people take interest in the program and model! Always opportunistic, we’re pursuing new leads to build and expand the program while taking care to address some growing pains along the way. Here are some recent highlights:

If you’ve been looking for information about TTN’s Caring Collaborative but didn’t know where to start, visit the TTN Caring Collaborative website. There you will find resources to help you get started with the program; dates and information about orientations and neighborhood group meetings if you’re already a member; copies of the Caring Times newsletter; and a Health & Wellness Resource Directory, researched and compiled by TTN volunteers.

Caring Collaborative Gains National Attention in Key Nursing Journal

The Caring Collaborative scored a major media placement in February with a feature article in Nursing Spectrum, a key professional journal for nurses with national circulation.
