The Transition Network, Inc. ("TTN" or "We") have created this privacy policy to explain why we collect particular information and how we will protect your personal privacy within our Web Site. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for the Web Sites located at the URL www.thetransitionnetwork.com, www.thetransitionnetwork.org or any successor site (collectively, the "Web Site" or "Site"). From time to time, changes in law or in the TTN business may require TTN to update this policy. We appreciate your use of the Site and respect your choice of whether to accept such changes. Upon each such change, you will be required to accept the modified version of this Privacy Policy before re-entering the Site, or else, at your discretion, either (a) your access to the Site shall be suspended or (b) your membership will be suspended and a pro rated amount of your membership fee returned.
What Information We Collect and How We Use That Information:
Contact Information: Some areas of our Site request or require contact and other information. During the registration process, we collect information such as your name, mailing address, and e-mail address. Your contact information will be used to administer the TTN mailing lists and provide you with mailings that you have requested, and may be used to get in touch with you when necessary with respect to services offered through the Site or for other internal purposes. As of September 1, 2007, we will share your address(es) and phone number(s) with other members unless you make a request by e-mail in writing or via e-mail that we not share that data. We may share your contact information with the organizers of events that you have chosen to attend, providers of opportunities into which you have inquired, and affiliates of TTN from whom you have requested information, as necessary for such third parties to perform the services you have requested. We do not share your contact information with any other third party without your consent, except to a court or governmental agency if required by law, as required by a court of competent jurisdiction or to the limited extent described below under "Certain Third Party Transactions".
Profile Information: During the registration process, and at any time after registration, you will be given the opportunity to provide additional information about yourself such as your interests, skills, experience, age, work and family status. This information will not be shared with other registered TTN members without your consent. We may use this information in aggregated form to provide registered TTN members with statistical information about the overall community of TTN members. We may also use this information to better target you with newsletters and opportunities that are geared towards members with your particular profile, or to track the success of our Site and services. We will not share your profile information with any other third party without your consent.
Billing and Donation Information: In the course of receiving your membership dues and any donations you choose to make, TTN will receive certain payment information, which may include, without limitation, checking information. We do not share any such information with any third party without your consent, except to a court or governmental agency if required by law, as required by a court of competent jurisdiction or to the limited extent described below under "Certain Third Party Transactions".
